Social Media Videos
When creating a promotional video campaign social media videos are now at the forefront. We used to get calls from people that wanted website video or even YouTube videos. Now we get calls for those asking for social media videos and more specifically, FaceBook videos and Instagram videos. Companies that advertise their services on broadcast television and cable are also looking to social media. You can buy advertising and target specific to a specific demographic or even professional. You can also just create video content to share with your followers. Some times that content can be shot from a smartphone. Other companies want the footage to look great. That is where Blare Films comes in. We create great-looking content shot in 4K resolution, that can be re-size, re-used, and repurposed. Below you can out the samples of our work with some important notes.
1 – Know the social media platform sizes.
Here is our Social Media Videos Promo
Once it is uploaded to Instagram, it is automatically cropped and looses its 16X9 aspect ratio. The result is a square video that is easier to view on a smartphone. It is important to be aware of this when editing your video. Here you can see the difference:
Here is a time-lapse we shot in 4K. As you can see it was crop to display vertically 9X16 so it can fill the screen on a smartphone when viewing it on the Instagram app:
2 – Know How to Frame Your Shots
We filming a majority of this footage in 4K. As you see this also display vertically. When shooting it the camera operator needs to keep everything in the center.
3 – Learn How to Get the Most of Your Footage
Keep in mind that social media videos don’t have to be long. Some platforms limit you to 1 minute. Most people scrolling through their social media feeds won’t spend a lot of time seeing a video playout completely. That means you can create a lot of content from just one shot. 10-15 second videos with a single text message are plenty.
Livonlabs hired us to film some great looking footage with our 6K Ultra HD Red Epic Dragon camera. For that single shoot, we were able to produce many different short videos. Some “product shots,” “how to-s” and “FAQs.” The following are some of those samples.
These next two videos are the same shot. The latter was edited months later with additional supporting text and graphics:
These are the RFQs:
